Hey guys i will try to explain this as best as i can. I have recently put an RB25DE into my cefiro to replace the 20de anyway the 25 gearbox was obviously differint so i am using the 20de auto box changed torque converter etc to suit. now that the engine is running time came to see if it actually moved. dropped it into gear and nothing gave it some rpm still nothing tried all of the gears an still nothing. the fluid level is just above the low mark. could this be the problem or is the torque converter fkd! cheers

this will sound stupid, but did you put the driveshaft on! I did a rb25deto 25det engine conversion a while ago, was in such a rushto see if had all gone well, I forgot that the driveshaft was in the boot! Failing that, have you done up the 4 torque converter bolts! is the selector atctually hooked up to the trans! do the PRND12 lights on the dash more up and down with the movement of the selector!

pull the trans cooler lines off and aim it at a bucket and start it up, if all is well it should pump oil out. sounds like its not pumping to me

do what motorboy said, could of damaged the pump if the converter wasnt in all the way, or different drive hub on the converter need to check the cooler flow.

na they werent lol dash lights come on now but still wont engage gear

il check the lines. i know its just above the bottem line on dipstick but it should still engage tho right!

I would say wrong torque converter but more likely broken pump gears did you put the converter into the trans first or bolt it to the engine

yeah should still engnage, even with no plugs on at all if should still engage. in drive, and running, give a rev, does the speedo move!

any rb torque converter should be fine, in my cefiro I use the trans/converert from an rb25det 4wd stagea in place of the rb20det 4wd cefiro one

the RB25 torque converter was to big for the 20 bellhousing thats why i changed it

thats very odd that its pumping, as its pumping it would suggest that it should work and have drive

did the box work properly before you got it! have some check the driveshaft while in gear and engine running

Need to check the splines in the converter then two different spline counts in the RE4RO1A one 18 and 20 might not match the trans. Or the spline could be gone very common with this trans you need know if it went before.

You need to check the oil level while the engine is running
