I recently bought a Deutz engine at auction which had it's original importing wrapping on.When I was having a look at it I opened the air cooling cover and there seems to be 2 bolt holes per cylinder that have no plug or anything on them. Anybody know if there is supposed to be something attached here! Doesn't seem to be anything to do with injectors etc but seems odd that there are bolt holes without bolts or caps on them.

The threaded holes are for temperture gauge or temperture switch to shut the engine down.
