I want to replace a crook seal,everyone wants to sell me a new jap made pump. Holden 186, 202. Current pump is a jappa, nearly rooted (again), have a good spare with the cast impellor, just needs a seal. Surely there must be someone who can supply them!

Nope, Water pumps are a throw away item now. A good percentage of the pumps are actually China made now, even GMB branded can be of china origin

Yeah, maybe cheap, but you have to replace them more often. Might pull the old one to bits first and see if I can match parts with new stuff.

Even a chinese made GMB pump should last an easy 100,000 kms, unless of course there is something causing problems such as an over tightened fan belt, or an out of balance fan blade.

Belt tensioned to spec, fan blade is a 'Flexalite' job, am using anti freeze! Just replaced the old one with a new one I found on a spare motor, nice and quiet now.
