Hey guys went to take the girlfriends car out this morning and when I started it there was a whining sound that increases with revs and an electrical burning smell (like when you play slot cars) it seems to be coming from around the alternator area any ideas! engine is the FS 2.0l
car still drives fine though

The OP needs to put a screwdriver to his ear and each component and find the source definitively.

all fluid levels are fine, the noise is coming from the back of the eingine where the alternator is. if the bearings are stuffed in the alternator how much longer do you think it would last till I get a replacement!
