my friend has a ck2a Lancer Mx 1996, the powersteering rack is leaking from behind the rack boot when you turn it. which would be best! replace the whole rack (2nd hand) or can you replace the seal! thanks

A second hand rack is going to be your cheapest option, replacing leaking hydraulic seals in racks is not a DIY job, even most garages send them to specialists if a full overhaul is needed, or desired by a customer.If one seal is leaking the rest are no doubt not far behind.Your local auto trans specialist might do this sort of work if you don't have a P/S specialist in your town, by all means ring them for a price but a used one will still be cheaper
