1982 EX Lancer RWD Vibration

There is about 2mm play in rear universal joint on end of drive shaft that bolts to diff. Would this cause car vibration at 70 to 90 km/Hr! Thanks.

Vibration is in the seats like a back massage.

there shouldnt be any play in the driveshaft universals. that would cause vibrations

99% chance that the U/J is the source of the vibration.

Play in a U/J is a WOF fail anyway, so you will kill two birds with one stone.

Taken Drive shaft off, play in U/J by diff, will change it out. Thanks Chaps. The little EX has been a Grannie car for 25 years, sorting some things out on it!

Also Check for missing weights on Drive shaft, some are balanced like a wheel. This can cause further things to fail.

Pressed out old u/j today and fitted NEW U/J, all fixed, weights were still on drive shaft, Thanks.
