Hi there looking into getting an E200 - any tips about what to look out for!
1. Is it anything to worry about when oil spits out when the oil cap is taken off while the car is running! (car still idles fine)
2. What could it be when the AUTO gearbox clunks ever so slightly when changing into 2nd gear while driving.
3. Also what is the gas consumption like - any help would be greatly appreciated :)

1. No, and you are not suppose to take the oil cap off with the engine running anyway. 2. Could be many things, like low oil level, worn clutch plates, old trans. fluid, etc. 3. No idea, but don't buy an import from Singapore, and if you're on a budget, it's not a car to buy. In fact, you should've held on to the car you just sold.

Too much car, not enough engine.
You'd be better off with a higher spec model

it also depends on how many miles the engine has down, i had a 230e merc and it was a fantastic car, good on fuel and run like a dream,,, then the gear box started to make a slight clunk sound,, long story from there but end result, a gear box pissing out oil. also engine starting to use a lot of oil,, the car did have 400,000 km on the clock. it started to cost me money around 350,000 km,

That'd be an older one though right!
The newer ones don't have the same rep for longevity

if you can find a dieselmerc you be happy,and a turbo one even better
