Hi there, Uncle as you know I have a W111 220SEb 4 door Mercedes benz Fintail. I have an in top order KM/H speedo head that I was given from a European one and I'm wanting to know if it swaps directly in place of the present MPH one! The only gearing difference I suspect would be for the odometer in the head itself .am I right in thinking this please!

From my memory when I had my wrecking business in these lovely old girls, it should drop straight in.

Yes it should fit straight in. Be very careful of the capilary line for the temperature sender when fitting as they are getting harder to get.

You're dead right about the capillary tube, I have several spare temp gauge units here still charged and operational. I thought it could be a straight swap and most likely the only difference between the KM/H and MPH units is the gearing in the head for the odometer & trip meter , both being driven from same gearing. Thanks guys. BTW the MPH head is 120MPH and the KM/H one is 200KM/H so same ratio in the read out of the speed at least.
