Interesting - the one and only time my L200 has ever been towed was also due to snapping the clutch cable. And the other thing that stopped it dead was a blocked jet. Apparently they don't run without fuel getting to the carb.

Nonsense! It loves the MX5 and so do I (driven, not owned)

studio1, Nov 14, 1:23am
Ha ha lol. and most of those need big chequebooks if they sh*t themselves. I'm happy with me Toy-motors - had an excellent run so far, no reason to change now.

michael.benn, Nov 14, 3:17am
You have fun with your Toy-motors . but in my opinion there has only ever been 3 Toyota's I would ever drive.

Toyota Supra, Toyota MR2, Toyota Hilux.

Anything else is just a snooze fest. Altezzas are okay but getting too common now.

Mitsubishi and Reliable dont mix hahahaha, Actually we had plastic parts bins at work and ive got some out in my workshop which we called Mitsubishi bins, just lots of parts, nuts, bolts, junk, bits and pieces collected. Just like a real Mitsubishi in fact

savanna71, Nov 14, 11:36am
So lets get this straight, you have bins full of nuts and bolts left over, yet its the vehicle that is unreliable!

xr6turbo2, Nov 14, 4:23pm
Just follow a mitsy on the road, and you will see blue smoke from the exhaust.Mitsubishi in my opinion go very well BUT do not last mechanically.Dont touch one,go toyota or late model mazda
X mechanic

studio1, Nov 14, 4:53pm
Yep, had TWO Supras (but too dear to run now with the price of petrol) - never owned an MR2 (impractical for my use) and I am hunting for a Four-Runner at the moment so that fills the Hilux position.

300,555 km on My 1982 Mitsubishi Sigma and 210,470 km on my 1997 Honda Accord Vti and both still going strong.

mk3zephyr, Nov 14, 6:00pm
collected over many years, what do YOU do with new parts that come with bolts etc! chuck the old bolts/nuts out!, i keep them if they are still ok might come in handy one day, have metric, metric fine and unc/unf. you are just sore that people call junk bins mitsubishi bins. Just like the cars, Junk

I had an 85 daihatsu rocky with a 2.8 diesel, had 560,000km on it and used no oil between 5000km changes

I've also had an 80's toyota cressida that had about 230,000km on it. burned about a litre of oil every 200kms!

drew2009, Nov 14, 6:25pm
Find out where all that oil leaking on the garage floor is coming from.
Probably around starter motor or sump gasket. If you are doing the rocker cover gasket it probably wouldn't be a bad idea to drop the sump and do that to. Gaskets are cheap enough.
As for the smoke you could always pour a bottle of nulon stop smoke in there, cheap as at supercheap.
Penrite make some good oils for high mileage smoke reduction as well.

hi-ling, Nov 14, 6:29pm
Another ill informed idiot.
Im currently driving a 96 Honda accord with 543, 000 kms on the clock and apart from cambelts and 1 clutchNOTHING has been done to the motor. It run 10w40 and still uses no oil between changes.
Ive also had 2X 3.1 isizu mus that both had done over 400,000kms with no oil burning.

My Grandad hated Mitsubishis with a passion.
Then again, it was 1943, he was in the Pacific and he he was trying to shoot down Zero's.

lugee, Mar 4, 11:04am
I dare you to follow mine with 200k on the clock then. You could live off that exhaust.
