If its slipping than i would be budgeting on a rebuild.Just had my 2001 v6 gearbox done for $1200.That was with me taking it out and putting it back in

We fitted a few fully reco'd supplied by ac delco for around 2,500 + fitting. they say as good as a new one, all internals replaced

sons vy ss gearbox was slipping in reverse was cheaper to replace with a brand new box than reconing it.
