Hi all, am needing to replace/upgrade the old points igntion would I be better to: *Fit a pertronix kit to the old bosch dizzy *sort out a mallory twin point dizzy I have *get a cheap-o afterburner/procomp HEI *try to get a vk/vl v8 HEI!

never had a 308 but other V8s Ive always used Mallory dizzy with the pertronix ignitor kit, & I wouldnt go near any pro-comp stuff, its total rubbish!

Ya mallory with the petronix kit is the way to go.

Mallory with the petronix kit is good because you can regraph itand its has adjustable springs.MSD is also a good choice.

Std Bosch HEI, was made for them! Just make sure you get the Bosch HEC 716 coil. Also, they come from the WB-VH Commy, 253 and 308, and the dizzy has to be installed 'backwards' for clearance. Aftermarker dizzys and manifolds don't always fit without some grinding.
