any simple way to do this, Castle Garden mower, do you need to take the pullys off, as they have wee guides, that we cant get the belt past thanks

There should be some sort of tensioner arrangement that you let go to change belt. It would be unusual to need to take pulleys off and very nasty engineering as well.

but you need to either remove the guard.guide or loosen them to swing them away
on my MTD there are 2, and they must be removed to fit a new belt - at the drive end - and another 3 pegs to remove on the mower deck good news is it only takes a few minutes to do
not very likely you'd have to remove the pulley though, they'd be right difficult to take off
