I once took a ZF transaxle to a well known Auckland gearbox firm for them to remove the gears, so I could get the outer casing polished.I returned the outer casing back to them so they could reassemble it.After a few days they ring me, asking if I have any manuals to assist them in putting it back together ! ! !
The project that this transaxle went into still hasn't been finished. When it's completed and the car is started, I'm wondering if I'm going to have 1 x forward gear, and 4 x reverse gears.
So much for having a reputable name.
