Are there any "GOOD" cars out there.

gunhand, Dec 16, 12:09am
Ive been reading this forum for a good few years and have always mused to myself some off the opinions of the many cars asked about on here.
It would appear that there is in fact no good car that ticks all box's for all (funny that) and most have serious issues. When some of the more reliable cars a mentioned they tend to be kinda drab.
So is it a rather bland Pulsar or Camry that wins lol cause any Ford, Holden, Nissan, Mitsubishi, Mazda, a few Toyotas, Subaru,Honda always seem to have all manner of problems. And lets not even mention cars not built in the land of the rising sun or apparently Thiland.
SO which car is
All powerfull all the time
Really economical, but still hugely powerfull
Can tow 10 tons
Can fit a rugby team, but still be economical, and all powerfull
Never needs any servicing ever, but still be all powerfull and economcal
Easy to park but big and manly
Easy to get in and out of, But low and sleek
Drinks all fuels
Only costs $100 at service times, but dosnt need servicing so this is void
My Grandmother can drive it, but be all powerfull
My 16 yo can drive it, but still be all powerfull
It can be insured for about $200 full cover
Its auto
Its Manual
Its Red, Blue, Green, White, Grey, Beige, Black, Purple, orange etc
Has power steering but not to light of course
Does a 10 sec 1/4 or quicker, but be economical
My dog can go in it and not ruin it
Has all manner of useless devices I may play with once then forget
Really really cheap parts that are available anytime I want
Tyres are about $75 each.
Must handle like its on rails
Must never rust

Must be one that fits that simple bill. SURLY!

I had my 1992 BMW 318i for 8 years. biggest cost was a new battery.

I loved my car soooo much. was sad the day it got traded in for family wagon but times change.

congratulations you have just discovered the meaning of the word "compromise"

on a more topical note, I found myself thinking 6 cylinder falcon wagon through much of those bullet points.

The old Toyota Cavalier must be good - its always being mentioned on the MB!

shinra, Dec 16, 5:09pm
yep totally agree superb car although the doors have a habit of falling off and that self destructing windshield which cost twice the cars value to replace but you know you can trust the reliable toyota brand name even though the only thing toyota on it are the side mirrors.

Honestly the best work car I ever had was a sub. 3years, 80k and never missed a beat. Id buy one again tomorrow if I needed one.

male_timaru, Dec 16, 7:16pm
I am in the same boat - not the 8 years but the trading it for a wagon grrrrr) bugger that the seats don't fold down in the back or 60/40 split etc eh

Beautiful car to drive
