A mate of mine had one of these when new (I had gixxer 750), if its his old bike the front wheel won't have much wear - spent most of the time in the air.

Good bikes alright but it's a very complex engine with high kms. Nice muffler on it c.f. the cans on the FZ which don't suit it at all.

Best buys at the moment are late model used MX / enduro bikes.There have been lots of deals and new model bikes sold recently, and most dealers have high stocks of used bikes.

It would be interesting to see Suzuki revisit that project with all the modern technology available. When you compare the RE5 to other touring bikes of its era its about the same size and shape.-cept for the weird instrument panel. Just to be clear it was NEVER aimed at the racer market it was aimed at the tourers

How can you say that is a good buy when auction is still running! Anyhow $2k is the limit for one of these with 100k's on the clock, discs will probably be shot as well as rear shock,been repainted so could be alot of repairs done to the bodywork.

'85 Fz handlesok but the '87 model is way better in the handling and stop a bit better also,I own both models and both have low km's.

I recently bought my first road bike. Its a black 1991 GSXR400R in great condition with reg and wof etc, for $1300. Was that a good buy!

The '87 is the one I had. With a 110/90 front end, it turns in much better than factory 120 front. Just loved the tight stuff!
