Planning on a bit of boating,I know orchardists have a site they use determining the weather over the next 4-5 days.anyone know what it is or know of a good long-range forecast site! cheers.
Sorry about that men, my internet sucks the kumara here so it takes forever sometimes to fix a mistake. Changing to a wifi provider in a few days so you can enjoy "full speed" Jazz once more.

Plus where's the fun if the weather is poo (might be fun for a little while but you get my drift. pun intended)
If you know how to read an isobar map this is THE best boating forecast for NZ coastal waters

try www.fishing.net.nzthey have a heap of links to forecasts, best bite times, swell maps.next couple days for aucks think its a NE and when the wind is from the east the fishing is the least and when the wind is from the west the fishing is the best
Except that they keep on getting it wrong! Try the above site.

Most sites will draw their data from met service and just dress it differently.
Metservice themselves state that they don't expect anything more than 50-75 percent accuracy, just the nature of.nature. Usually it's the timing that is wrong, not the details.
Also depends how specific you want - eg we frequently get rain forecast that we don't get, simply because of precisely where we are - the wider region gets it though, so I wouldn't call that an incorrect forecast.
cheers mate. was just a temp self imposed holiday. Needed to get some work done. Still havent done it.

Weatherspark reports 22°C here. Having just returned from an hour's stroll along the beach, if that's 22°C I wouldn't want to experience any higher. Thermometer in our lounge say 31°C.

Swellmap is one of the best, gives 5 day forecast and includes wave height and wind direction and speed. info straight off weather buoys. swellmap has a boating and surfing data. but one and same essentially

Metservice temperature reports are always on the low side. Someone told me they don't want to alarm people! I can't believe that but why would they consistantly report low!

Usually because of where the reporting sites are located. Historically a lot of them are airports, which tend to be open ground, coastal, exposed etc Built up areas have a huge impact on the temperature, regardless of other terrain.

This is the best site I have found for boating. Gives you swell hight and direction also wind speed, direction and gusts and also general weather report for 7 days. oh and tide times. I set the link up for your area. http://www.swellmap.com/boating/new-zealand/tasman-bay
