Unlikely, unless its been repowered with one, it would be best to look for the engine number itself, you are looking for either a 4G32 (1.6) or 4G63 (2.0), or alternatively look at what Carjam has to say.The old square pre '87 versions were 1600cc ex factory, thereafter were 2000cc.We're talking NZ new L300's as opposed to imported Delica's!These had more engine options including diesels in that period.

must be the sohc 4g63,i remember every time i went to repco they would look up the book and give me the wrong stuff.think it has been repowered

Would it not be easier to have a look at the van! Instead of guessing.

Being that era, is it short or long wheel base! The long wheel base had twin side load doors! If all else fails check fuel pump, easily seen from top 3 bolt 1600, 2 bolt 1800, 2litre.

I had a short wheel base as a courier van and was 1600. The long wheelbase with the twin side doors was 1800.

i am looking at it,its in my drive, somone wants to know the engine model and i have no idea how to tell.is the engine itself stamped,if so where!hate to sound like a simple dude, but im not a mechanics asshole so thought id ask the oh so wise TM message board for some assistance.cheers

its the old school square l300 single side door, carjam reckons 1800cc,has electric fuel pump.have a feeling its been repowered with an old galant 2ltr.
