I have a 186 X2 stored away in my garage that I've run in a few cars over the years. I have both an X2 and a 28/36 DCDcarb set for it. Although the twins look great the single DCD runs rings around them in terms of performance, driveability and economy.

My first 'go faster' part was twin Strommies. Have been using triple SUs for 24 years now. Recently bought another set of X2 carbs on a manifold. with original gold air cleaner. (dunno why, just seemed like a good idea at the time) 4 barrel is only good on a heavy breathing motor, have heard the Cortina/Falcon Weber is the best option. Stay away from the 350, better off with the Holden varijet.
