If you are really set on getting to the beach hop in your toyota.without modding it.enter it as a cuda.and have it towed under tarp to the event.hehe.better take a few backups for when you pull the tarp.hehe

There are some people who just don't get it.I haven't yet been to the Beach Hop, but will when my 1956 V8 powered project is done.I expect it to be accepted there; meanwhile, I do not expect it to be accepted at Ellerslie in the concours for original cars.
The MG car Club are really keen to see it even though purists are often horrified when a car is customised, Hot -Rodded or customised. If it had been rare, desirable or historically significant, rather than a nice looking saloon that had totally rotted out underneath and had a seized engine and brakes, it wouldn't have been modified.
If you have a 4 cylinder Jappa that has survived this long and even if rare, immaculate or even valuable, fine. But it does not belong at at the Beach Hop - and it probably never will.

im surprised why someone would push so hard to get his car entered into a show full of cars he has no interest in seeing
how many owners do you see standing beside their car all day at beachhop! none

One show that DOES get on my tits now is the Galaxy Of Cars. Some bright spark decided that this past one was to be a "clubs only" event, yet that was never advertised in either NZCC or Petrolhead. Really pissed me off - not to mention the others who drove from Bellagio's cafe that morning.
There were more interesting cars in the public car park (where we were made to go) than in the show itself. Especially when the middle of the field is the Commodore car club with a line of VYs with cheap 17" mags and tints.
I can see that crap at any Westfield carpark. Hell, I'd rather look at the OP's '76! At least it's uncommon.

nah, just shows how wrong you were yet couldnt handle being given the opinions YOU ASKED FOR! BTW this has not been all about you & your jappa but as with many threads is evolving into other areas

nice car but does not belong at beach hop.but if you wanna get noticed in a jap vehicle at beach hop you could get yourself a jap mini-sub and cruise up the inlet and whack a few torpedos into some of those mega-boats there, that would get you noticed, you would be at the beach hop ,and you would be in a jap vehicle.choice huh !

That's not unusual, I have found that (especially the one marque type) car clubs tend to be full of tossers, and you often get far nicer vehicles in car parks.
