Yes and probably.
For starters replace the Radiator, ad at the least you will be up for a complete trans flush

mitchell_nz2005, Jan 17, 10:43am
Ok so ill just need to replace the radiator so dont need to replace automatic transmission

May still need a transmission - depends on how long the water has been leaking in there & what damage it has done.

Buy a trans oil cooler cheaper than a new radiator.

brokebloke1, Jan 18, 3:41am
better for the transmission too as they run better when they are cooler

I assume these have a trans cooler built into the radiator!

You will need a new radiator, new trans fluid, gasket and trans flush and coolant at the very least If you are lucky.

Trans don't like coolant at all . it might be ok short term but you may need to strip down and overhaul in the future

all VX Holdens have trans coolers built in to the radiator, as said new radiator and trans flush should sort it out.

Trans cooing pipes flow thru a header tank. if fluid is getting into the coolant then pipe may have split in it inside the header tank. replace radiator

If fluid is getting into the coolent, then wouldn't one assume that coolent would also be getting into the fluid lines to the tranny!

. could allso be case too
