ok so this morning when i went to work i noticed my car is idling a bit higher then ususal,its a toyota surf,it was idling around 1000rmp,ive been told it should only idle at 500 ! please no silly replys,i just want to know what this could be and if i should take my car to the mechanic.

To be honest it could be alot of things such as, choke, air leak,throttle body, or not much at all. YES to take it to your mechanic.
