2.0L SOHC 4G63. Fuel pump is ok when the car is level and motor running. When the car is on a hill with nose down,motor running, petrol gushes out of what looks like a factory hole on the side of the mechanical fuel pump. Hole is about 8mm. Is the pump munted!

they either pee out petrol or pee out oil, in both cases pump replacement is the only answer.A little odd that it only does it on a slope though!

Common Fault on my 1982 Sigma 1600 Normally my one bleeds oil out of the pump. Must of done a few or more them now in 22 years of ownership. See my profile.

A few years ago my Dad had a 1982 2000 GLX Manual.The 2 litre definatly had a little more power over the 1600.You must be enjoying it good km too!

it might pay to change your engine oil and filter,most of mitzi's that i have had to replace fuel pumps on,also leak petrol into engine cavity.then they do weird things like idling rough and oil level rising.

check the main in line and the return i bought a new pump from mitsi didnt read the instructions the new pump changed the old pump the return was the top and the return was the bottom pipe so i just installed the pump the same way all good into going up hill and going around left turns so cleaned tank new lines rebuilt carb still the same then changed the fuel lines and the problim was gone

Not yet its still on 299560 km.Car is on exemption at the moment as I have two older Vauxhalls as well and I register and wof and drive one at a time.In another three months I hope to get the Sigma over its 300,000km mark.
