hi my nissan primera starts ok the prob is wen its warmed up it surges. the rev counter goes up and down and sounds like the engine is reving up then down.can some1 point me in the right direction

Tps could be on the fritz and so could be the MAF sensor, best place to start is a good service if you havnt done one in a long time, then start searching for the problem if it still exists

vaccume leak probably cracked hose somwhere. vw like to do this when the crank breather has a craked or loose bung in rocker cover.

Nah your both WRONG! ''and im right'' tehehe Its the idle control valve thats faulty and needs a clean or replacing. Try removing it and soak it in brake clean 5-6 hours then re-fit before buying a new one.
