We used to have a guy down here that cleaned airfilters, can this still be done, any one tried it, any one know how to do it.

Unless it's specifically designed to be cleaned, such as a K&N. throw it away. If it is a re-usable filter, you can buy recharge kits from repco/supercheap. The price of air filters is very cheap, in fact i paid $26 for one for my little runaround today at supercheap, and even bought a K&N from the US for a little under $nz80 for my weekender.
