I want to be just like you.
You can give it the notice

xacoon, Mar 25, 3:40am
well, funnily enough there is a little thing called evaporation, you may have heard of it! basically what happens is water dissipates into thin air.

andrea13, Mar 25, 3:41am
yeah it using as much water as gas, is gotta be going somewhere, just checked under cowling and around water pump, dry as, must be going out exhaust pipe

1fordluva, Mar 25, 3:41am
No on second thought I would rather keep my cxxk Than be a cxxx like you pmsl!

johnf_456, Mar 25, 3:42am
Yeah but its not leaking so it has to be going somewhere and anti freeze does not evapourate.

johnf_456, Mar 25, 3:43am
How am I one whats your problem!

1fordluva, Mar 25, 3:43am
If it is going into the cylinder it would burn buckets of smoke.

johnf_456, Mar 25, 3:44am
Yes hence asking above on the smoke as per post 2 if you can read. But its not so possibly rad cap or the water pump.

andrea13, Mar 25, 3:44am
wtf!

andrea13, Mar 25, 3:45am
is using a couple litres a day, I wont be wasting antifreeze in it anytime soon.

1fordluva, Mar 25, 3:46am
I can read, all be it only to year 13.

1fordluva, Mar 25, 3:46am
But is it smoking under load or while running.

andrea13, Mar 25, 3:48am
/

well yeah, thats what I figured, but is pressurising cooling system so it makes sense that some must be getting into the cyl, right!

andrea13, Mar 25, 3:50am
no, seems ok, was a bit smoky when I drove it off the transporter straight after overheating but went away after changing the oil.

In your 1st post, you say you are running it with the radiator cap loose. Have you tried it with the cap on tight!

andrea13, Mar 25, 12:40pm
not since the second blown hose, at the moment I haven't got the time to keep repairing this car/picking up wife when it lets her down.

I have got a complete set of hoses under way for it, but as its our only car I will be unable to take it off the road tho take the head off until the school holidays.

some of the coolant loss will definatly be coming from the radiator cap, but my biggest worry is too much coolant pressure causing more problems/breakdowns.

andrea13, Mar 25, 12:41pm
a repower most likely is the best option, or a complete donor car locally.

johnf_456, Mar 25, 2:14pm
My suspicions to.

jrlaw, Mar 25, 6:58pm
Head gasket will have failed , lack of fresh anti freeze, well thats what happened to a family one.

rlnhrd, Sep 5, 5:19am
blown head gasket, get a secondhand engine
