Considering an aftermarket ECU can be well over $1k all I'll say is - you get what you pay for.

I can speak from experience - I bought a chip for my vt calais off him a couple of years ago. Definately more power round town - used more gas though - 12L/100km. open road passing greatly improved, and cruising at 100-110 would see 7L/100km. Overall worth it, I noticed the increase, but never dyno'd to see how many more kw's

It'll shorten your engine life.
Advanced timing and possibly dangerously lean on wide open throttle.

Nope. never heard any pinking from engine, no engine light warning from knock sensors and under wot injects much more fuel than factory

Had one of these on a vn v6,not from this trader,certainly gave me more power,not sure on economy .but did some awesome power skids.
