Terrano.Is this chain or belt drive?

Cambelt. They are thirsty too, with automatic transmissions that aren't the greatest.

I've got one just like it with a 2.7 diesel engine, done over 250 000kms, well serviced too. How it got to such a high mileage without any problems is beyond me.

The early terrano,s had TD27. some gear driven and some chain driven cam,s. I agree those 3.0 + v6,s are thirsty i had a 3.0ltr v6 d21 model and it was a guts

OP, I had one for five years, most of the tales about them are just that - tales.

For a two-ton vehicle, they are not as bad on gas as painted, mine was consistently in the 12-13L/100Km around town, and treated gently on a trip, 10L/100Km was entirely possible.

They are not, however, bought to save money - they are bought to do a job.

Towing is a breeze.

I never had any problems with the transmission, I bought at 150,000Km and sold at 225,000Km, and the only real expense I had was the cambelt + ancillaries at 200K.Km. wasn't cheap, at $950.00, but well worth it.

They are no Lamborghini, but, for the money, good value.

Thanks pge, I will pass info on.I have a Golf and the tales told on here about them is amazing so I know what your saying!My golf is VERY eco on gas but others would say otherwise.

This if fitted with 3.3litre engine is a SD33 gear driven engine
