subaru dont like any old fuel shell used to be the worst and dont ever use 91 octane 96 minimum to not have coughing from fuel issues

if you can afford to run a subbie, you should be able to keep it on 98 octane. they are always thirsty. i know cos i had 3 Legacy Turbos. sadly 2 oveerheated and the other decided after a few weeks of been parked up, it didn't wanna start again, despite trying a brand new battery.

One thing that's been overlooked is it could be hitting the factory boost cut, have seen this a few times due to split/cracked boost reference line to the wastegate.
Take it to a mechanic or contact hijacka like he said.

Had same problem and in my case it was the airflow gismo.Had another put in problem solved.

Mine was doing that and the coilpacks were buggered.
