have to do cambelt as is 30,000 over due, do the idler bearings, hydralic tesnior, water pump etc have to be done! or just see what condition they are in!

ideally belt, idlers, tensioner, water-pump and crank seal is what you SHOULD do, esp if you plan on keeping the car. Evidently the hydrolictensioner is NOT re-usable though I have re-used it and all the other orig parts except the belt on a cars that the owner could not afford to replace everything

The hydrolic tensioner and bearing is one unit with the later EJs,Only pre96 engines have the separate tensioner. Do it properly #1, Replace: Water pump and thermostat 4x cam seals 1oilpump seal All bearings and tensioner bearings Cambelt Rocker cover gaskets Oil and filter Use genuine Subaru parts only whats the point in replacing the belt when the old bearings will seize and cause it to snap anyway!
