Phew as I mentioned in another thread .thank god I don't have to face all the idiots up in Auckland region.and guess what some were prepared to argue the toss.
This thread bares out positive proof exactly my sentiments in the other thread mentioned here.

I once saw an asian guy change lanes on the motorway by wrenching his steering wheel so violently he was almost sideways.
He changed lanes back when he realised he was in the right lane to begin with, again almost going sideways.
I have no idea how he didn't spin out, he was just changing one lane over, but managed to get almost sideways and then straighten up in only a few meters.

As an ex traffic cop of the 1980's, I could post at least a hundred stories.

Got passed by an Intercity bus going through Awakino Gorge in the rain. We were doing 90km/h, the bus took 2 blind corners and a short straight to pass. The cars comming the opposite way pulled over to avoid a head on.
We slowed right down so the bus could pull in. That was back when there were lots of small slips, bus didn't slow down for then either.

I was a passenger at the time but the driver was so shaken that she pulled over and insisted that i drove.
Edited 'cos my gramma was baaad!

I'll guarantee you could and being a professional driver myself with about 3million plus km logged in 25 plus years since leaving the motor trade ,so could I, it's mind boggling really.
Thank god I'll be retired in less than 2 years and not have to face it all on such a regular basis.
On thing for sure I don't take annual leave on busy times of the year when roads are choked. Bugger that what sort of vacation do you call that! Very stressed I'd say, besides I as I said before I prefer to fly, quicker and cheaper plus if you get a rental car it still pans out cheaper, I do that regularly and it works fine for me .on the off season when traffic on roads is more "sane."

I reckon the cops did a marvelous job back in the M.O.T. days why the heck did they change, I'd love to see it all change back actually.

Car in front of me on the Napier-Taupo Road regularly crossing the centre line around blind corners. I slowed down to get some distance, didn't want to end up in that mess.

you want a story just from today! or a bad story! had a dick drive past the stop go man like he wasnt there, funny how fast he stopped when he noticed the front of my truck comin towards him. You know the red sign with stop on it! it means STOP!

Me. Worst I have ever seen

eddiedean, Mar 21, 2:24am
Oh hells yeah that movie is AWESOME!

eddiedean, Mar 21, 2:27am
That is moronic driving and utterly selfish. I dont mind at all when morons wipe themselves out and erase their DNA from the gene pool but when a poor innocent driver turns a corner only to find an idiot has crossed the line on a blind corner and gets killed it makes me irate

same for those crossing the line on any strech of road and taking people out wth them

so incredibly unfair to the poor sod whos driving to the law

One of my favourites, coming back from fielddays hamilton heading back to auckland. Heading up the south face of the bombays, in a diesel ute doing 80 - 90kph, left lane, sweet as, this little euro thing with a commodore hanging out the arse end comes creeping up beside me, euro driver sporting a look of grim death, commie driver just about apopolectic. Anyway the euro finally inches past me a k or so later and the commie driver buried his foot (btw its PISSING down with rain and a bit dark at this point) and powerslides into the ditch, cartwheels easy 8- 10 ft into the air and lands on the roof in the ditch, well fucked and far from home. Was pissed off as a) arrogant bastard cant drive, b) stuck on the top of the bombays with a mean lightning storm sitting on my head and c) cops made us wait for ages in the rain! anyway thats my story and I always do my best to watch out for angry jokers in holdens now :P

That is classic, what a tosser the guy must be

hutchk, Mar 21, 3:09am
A few months ago I watched some bint in an Explorer cross the Napier/Hastings expressway and calmly exit down the Taradale on ramp.I waited for the crunch, it appears she got lucky.

i cant stand drivers of fast powerfull cars moaning about how much they get passed

because they are probablly only puttering around - trying to eek the fuel out

start driving it like it was made to be, or get a nana mobile to suit your driving style (i.e. spare us the moan)

hyphen, Mar 21, 3:28am
ah, so you have a Prado

wrong2, Mar 21, 3:35am
i do lots of overtaking

& i come up behind a lot of (much) faster machinery than what i have, thats crawling because of (i can only guess) running costs

to think you should get respect & not overtaken because your in a sweet ride ! thats a lol

hyphen, Mar 21, 3:56am
I'm probably doing the speed limit, aye wong2 and you are simply proving you are actually small penis'ed, oh, in your hire purchase Prado

eddiedean, Mar 21, 4:00am
okay heres a hypothetical

If i have a small percy

and i drive a humble sedan, no mods, no extras just toyota camry mid 90's style with hubbies

What does that make me!

hyphen, Mar 21, 4:01am
is it HP or free-hold!
and do you overtake unnecessarily !

eddiedean, Mar 21, 4:03am
lol its freehold.

nope i just drive the limit and let others over take me if they wish, no ego involved

hyphen, Mar 21, 4:05am
you are a man who knows his place in the universe

eddiedean, Mar 21, 4:06am
lol great answer.

hyphen, Mar 21, 4:07am
but do you feel apprehensive in those "merge like a zip" situations!
