Im sure you have looked, but sometimes the timing settings are on a sticker on the underside of the bonnet, are you sure it has points!

Closest I can find on Autodata is J16 or Z20.

Nope. Very little info on the Z16 sorry.
Might be worth trying the local library or Nissan workshop for the info.
Also try here: http://pdftown.com/ Nissan clubs/forums on the net might be worth a look too. If you find a Navara/Pathfinder specific one they may be able to help. Early Bluebirds used the engine too so may be worth a look. http://nissanbluebird.8.forumer.com/

z24 gap.20 points would be surprised if you are using plugs gapped at 1.1 on a carb mtr

if it's any helpthe NA16engine was the "Z" series replacment .

Good point actually. I think I copied and pasted the plug number for a Bluebird with the Z16E.
BP5ES with a gap of 0.9mm sounds more accurate.

try for the j16, '86nissan pickup ( datsun 720 ), these became the Z series motors in the later models and I think you will find the Z16 is a rebadged J16

jason, are you using AD3, or have a you a later version

xs1100, Mar 30, 8:07am
would go for .08 on plugs which is standard gappingand at worst use a hacksaw blade.if looking up a haynes or gregory manual look for the AIRGAP thats how they describe it and as i say i set mine at .20 on a z24 carb motor so should be the same
