Hi, my AU2 6cyl has developed an oil leak coming from the sump gasket, it looks pretty tight under there so are asking if it's an easy job.what needs to be done to replace the gasket!

To change the sump gasket, you will need to drop the front end.

Are you sure its the sump and not the front timing cover! Very coming for the covers to leak and then the oil runs down and around the sump.

Yep it's coming from the rear of the sump, deceased around sump and it came through.cars done 497k.

Rear of the sump! Checked rear main seal and rocker cover/head gasket!
I gotta say, I've only ever seen one AU sump actually leak (other then ones that have been off and not resealed correctly etc). Seen a lot misdiagnosed though
