If I damaged something when im fitting it, I replace it, on me, simple, same as if i fitted a part wrong which in turn cause damage. You can hardly mess up an idler bearing , so that point is moot.

Actually you can cause premature failure of the tensioner bearing on a Quad cam Subby due to incorrect fitment.

Subaru even released a service bulletin about it to avoid failures.
Did they not send that information to the backyard mechanics!
I guess that is the customers risk since you wont guarantee the parts.

Not picking on you Motorboy, but that highlights the differences between what backyard guys and workshops can offer.

admittedly all I do is follow the workshop manual I have, this does not have any updates

In total honesty the actual quality of the job done by an ex subaru mechanic-and i qoute.Works out double my hourly rate as a franchise mechanic but less than 1/2 the charge out at my work. Win / win really

After all when some **overheads** mean the spanner person becomes underpaid and overvalued to accomadate the coffee and secretaries.

monkeys being paid peanuts-may not be the most conscentious monkeys.
