Anyone know what a basic flush only should set me back!. 5 speed tiptronic box with the 1.8T engine. Ive had 3 quotes and all are wildly different.

well what exact gearboxhave you got as the DSg is a manual transmission and dont needs flushing . older sloshbox i would go to either reputable Vw agent or a gearbox rebuild reconditioner place for service. The vw trans are not straight forward if it is a slush box like golf have then the filter gets changed and refilling is done with special adaptor and then you mesure with a engine diagnostic the fluid temperature to be 30 degrees for correct level.

http://www.blauparts.com/vw/vw_fluid/vw_automatic_transmission_fluid.shtml to give you a idea about the slush box. if your confident you could do it your selfs they seem to ship worldwide just remeber if gst content of the total cost is more then 60$ then you have to pay import tax and all on it usually round 380$nz

VW/Audi 4 or 5 spd auto flush and filter change $420 at Advanced Autos Whangarei or $370 at Qualitat Auckland.

Thanks heaps for the link. Have an ex mechanic friend with hoist and all the tools so this could be the route to go.Appreciate it.
