What do u think about them!In thinking of buying one off some guy from work! He's got a ve sv6 front on it and lowered on 20s it looks nice. He wants 16000 for it. Done 150000ks.

good car but 16000 is top dollar i would say a dealer would offer him about 12000 - 14000 best to go to a dealer or auction house to find out the real value

They are ok but the interior build quality is a bit so-so, and just mind the fuel usage. $16,000 sounds a bit keen I must agree

if the timing chain is noisy.seriously run a mile they are a 3k repair and are not covered by most warranties

I think the issue you are referring to is timing chain stretch! OP if you go ahead with purchase, find out if it has been previously replaced. Engine light comes on to indicate fault, if light is on don't look further, and yes - expensive to fix

Also 2008 they still hadn't ironed out all the bugs :)

The early VEs did have timing chain stretching. Thats why in newer models Holden put in 9mm timing chains instead of 7mm. Goodluck having any Holden salesman admit that to you though. If I had $16k i'd much rather get something like a Maxima or Aurion. Much better than a watered down Omega. Actually a couple of months back I saw a 2007 VE SV6 that had done around 100,000km and that sold for $17k.
