When do you know when 2 replace cambelt?

Hard to imagine how an engine idling can cause a water cooled turbo to get hotter when a working engine is putting exhaust gases at 1000 degrees C into the turbo,

On any car, a turbo timer will never help as far as a cam belt goes.All it does is make the engine run a little longer thus putting more (if only a little) wear on the cambelt.Almost all cambelts removed show little signs of wear when replaced but think of the cost if it does break.Treat it as a precaution(like wearing a condomn)
