had been driving fine, then the other morning i was driving it and it was very gutless, on flat road will have foot flat going 100km at 3500rpm, when i ease on the foot and let it go to fourth gear it will decrease in speed and the rpm will go up again.Last night i took it for a drive and it was driving fine again, this morning drove it about 10km, stopped and went to go again and it was back to being gutless, any ideas what the problem could be! 2.7TD 1996 terrano auto. 202000km.

I would start by check the air intake hose for splits, between the air flow meter and turbo charger.
The next thing I'd check would be the brakes. Make sure they are not stuck on.

Sounds like it's auto. Maybe the trans is slipping if the revs are all over the place, check ATF!

That it was a stupid question or that the EGR could be the culprit!

The icon means "unfortunately so".

its common for them to have internal inj pump faults which can be intermitent may pay to have it scanned
