I'm having strange ideas about doing the K2 but couldn't afford to stay there the night before. I'd be driving early in the morning and I usually sit on about 90kph.

Gravel-tight and twisty-and-common to meet trucks coming the other way [Usually when ya sort warn passengers she's a bit tight thru here-and voila truck outa nowhere-LOL] Damn nice piece of road I M H O Reminder of the good ole dayze b4 seal.

30 minutes to the Bombays, 30 minutes to Kopu, 30 minutes to Tairua. Tops.

165kms and 2hrs and 3 minutes from Railside ave, henderson, but if you go via my house just add on about 12 hours and food stops etc.according to google anyway !

Why on earth would you use the 309 for Tairua! That would be one hell of a long short cut.

Thanks guys. I'll keep 2.45mins in mind. I might be able to stay at Thames. Its the drive home after riding a very hilly 200kms that worries me!
