I had a 6 month contract in Hamilton about 7 years ago and during that time I conducted my own tests (also, as I am self-employed and my usage had changed dramatically, I needed to do a new logbook for tax purposes) which demonstrated conclusively that there was about a 9% fuel saving when using the higher octane 96 (as it was at the time) over the 91. That was 260km/day, 5 days a week.

AU2 factory handbook recommends XR6 to run on 91 or higher octane XR8 to run on 95 or higher octane
