Is that another term for centrifugal clutch! look'n at a small motor for a go-kart the guy said he might be able to find the dog drive for it.cheers folks.

My understanding of 'dog drive' is of a positive engagement, usually by lugs engaging with each other as opposed to a friction engagement as in a clutch(centrifugal or otherwise).

Yes, a dog is a positive on/off drive mechanism. A centrifugal clutch wouldn't be considered a 'drive dog'.

Yes lugs or splines like the old TQ Midgets Full engage or full disengage, nothing in between
