I would think driving like a nana on the open road you will get about, 10 -11 km/l, around town such as auckland about 7-8km/l.

ok then town running = 14l/100km or 20mpgopen road = 11 - 10 l/100km or 25 - 29 mpg.hope you understand.

There thirsty as mate, Big engine, Heavy vehicle and the aero dynamics of a brick = lots of gas I also would love one of these vans but there not cheap to run.
