2002 holden vx series 2-any issues to look for

when buying please !, car has 148000 on the clock and has the 3.8 engine. any practical input would be appreciated,appears to have been reasonably well serviced and looked after-I am ok re knowledge on cars in general, just dont know much about holdens.

Good site listing all the common faults - there are surprisingly few and by 2002 they had ironed out almost all of them. So over all they are a great car just not overly economical, but you probably already know that much.

Peanuteater,motor and trans on these pretty much bullet proof, I have one of these myself, tows caravaneasily. Sure they'll use a bit of juice around town and towing but you have to expect that 3.8L after all, BUT on the open road with cruise control not a lot of difference, fuel consumption wise, to a few 2l plus four bangers I've had.
ALSO, if you bust a tail light etc, there's a heap of them being wrecked out there and the price is a lot easier than a lot of Jap and especially Euro's.
