Are the mitzi Pajero SWB 4WD auto's any good for offroading! Just want to be able to go up a few farm tracks and some riverbeds etc

I've never had one but heard good things about them. I also hear petrol is the way to go with the Pajero.

Yes. Try and get the one that has a factory rear diff lock. The 3.5 litre (SOHC per bank) V6 is the one to go for, or a 2.8 litre turbo diesel. When buying a Paj, I'd buy a manual one, even though I prefer autos for off road.

Yup, by christ don't get a 3.5 DOHC one whatever you do, the amount of fuel they drink is nothing short of unbelievable.
