is there any way to tell how many jags 1971 xj6 4 speed manuals came into the country or ever made thanks

I worked for a Daimler agent in 1971 and we only sold and serviced 1,but that is a Daimler XDM 4.2. Manual with overdrive. Im sure it used to belong to the Dr that was attached to the Manfeild track back in the day.

Can't help with your original question but I knew of a similar year series one with factory manual to yours in Katikati about 15 years ago. It had the overdrive as well.

Well, according to various web sources there were about 60,000 of these made, and approx 90% of these were automatic. This leaves a give or take figure of around 6000 of this model in manual. The overdrive was an optional extra so not all of these will have it. Sorry I have no idea how to find out NZ numbers.

Despite what most would believe.Jaguars don't belong in garages, they should be out prowlin' around the roads.
