Does anybody know of a good reputable mechanic in Hamilton that can do cambelts on BMWs! Being an older model (1988) and no longer under warranty (obviously) Im sure any reputable mechanic can do it. Its hugely overdue (done 200ks and no evidence of it ever being done since made) so I am currently risking it everytime I drive it. I would keep driving it till it snaps so I have an excuse to tell the Mrs I have to do a conversion, but then I have to make the $ to do such conversion - so best bet is to just do it & wait til I save the $ lol. So any recommendations! Oh, and what is the current going rate (approx) for cambelts on my model BMW (if anyone has ever had one done before)!

SD European have a very good rep. and are BMW specialists. M40 cambelt is a pretty straightforward job, cost shouldn't be too epic, don't forget the waterpump.

You could also try Mosen European, off kahikatea drive extension (wickham place!) Kerry's a good knowledgeable chap. Or SD Euro as mentioned.
