You will have to get the car to your mechanic or get the cuzzies round and fit a new cable, its not that hard to do.

Yeah, I just wanted to see if I could get gears, won't touch anymore.

akd100, Jul 15, 7:36am
Yep will get it to the mechanic, was just wanting some advice in the mean time.

akd100, Jul 15, 7:36am
Well I'm sorry that I confused you so much, but thank you for your help!

modie61, Jul 15, 7:36am
Good luck with the car.

akd100, Jul 15, 7:38am
Thank you, feeling a lot better now. Thanks for your help everyone.

thats fine, putting it in gear and then starting the engine proves the clutch itself is fine, the gearbox is fine, and the issue is a broken cable only ---- ---- but do not do this if you do not have the room or the nouse to deal with the movement and eventual position the car will end up in

I suggest you do not do this, leave it for the mechanic

Yip I may not no anything about the mechanics of a car, but I do know what not to do.

End of the day it's sounding like an external part-(Clutch Cable) rather than an expensive gearbox out job.

akd100, Jul 15, 8:47am
Cool, thanks, because I hadn't been able to get it into gear early, I thought there may have been two problems, but now that I can get it into gear it is sounding much better!

I would guess it's the pressure plate, probably some broken fingers!

Mechanic is going to come and look tomorrow, I just wanted to know so I could either sleep tonight or worrying about how much it's going to cost, but I'm feeling good now.
