got a reply to an my enquiryabout fuel economy ,answer was

"I generally get just over 100kms per $20 - so will usually fill up $80 per week and get 400-500kms out of it."

too many variables. Unless they can state actual mpg or metric equivalent it's a waste of time asking

based on what they have told you [400-500km from $80] and using approx current fuel prices at the pump, I get anywhere from 27.86mpg to 40.26mpg.

Take your pick which you'd like to believe.

This sounds about right, for general running around an auto 2.0 Peugeot should do about 9 l/100km (9 x $2.20 = $19.80 which assumes fairly expensive premium fuel)so what they are saying lines up almost exactly with what I would expect from that car. The auto from memory is a 4 speed which in the context of the time was actually pretty good.

If you want better economy in a Frenchie of the age/price try for a manual one. Especially the 1.6 if you don't mind being down a bit on power.
