So what exactly is so wrong with your vehicle that it requires $3500 worth of repairs!

no gas

philltauranga, Jul 22, 10:13am
Got a air compressor! disconect fuel line, put it into a container, remove filler cap and then pressurize the tank.

fryan1962, Jul 22, 12:13pm
there is probably drain plug in bottom of tank anyway

cordless was just humour like some of the other ideas

johnf_456, Jul 22, 12:20pm
Get a second opinion then come back here and someone here could explain what it is. I would ease up on getting the gas until I had some more evidence in front of you.

thewomble1, Jul 22, 1:53pm
only a small contain now needed

ttgirl, Jul 22, 2:29pm
Here's someome who needs to stay away from cars. It's not an ice pick it's a berylium pick and most scrap yards use them to pierce fuel tanks because they don't spark.

splinter67, Jul 22, 8:33pm
No most wreckers take out the drain plug in the bottom of the tank

the-lada-dude, Jul 22, 8:47pm
wouldn'tit be easier to just light a match, and try and look down the filler pipe and see if there's any petrol in the bugger !andyeah ! you and your ice pick bill robinson,

splinter67, Jul 22, 8:50pm
Well that would be a good idea if you had a lada lol

bill-robinson, Jul 22, 9:18pm
what is wrong with my ice pick! YOU have never seen it. ( have you)

just for the record-the easiest way for a car owner to empty a modern petrol tank is to unbolt the fuel pump and ??

hopie, Jul 27, 1:47am
didnt read it all so probably been said, but undo at the tank where the fuller hose goes in, and put garden hose in there. Most time fuller hoses have the thing the stops you being able to shove anything down it. or take out the back seat and get it thru the access panel in alot of cars.

Can disconnect the fuel line from the injector rail and run a tube into a few cans. Then simply turn on the ignition to pump the tank dry.No syphoning required

mrfxit, Jul 27, 5:26am
Ok for a few liters but the coils are going to get pretty hot after a while & the pumps require back pressure to maintain internal temps down.
Not good considering most injection pumps are "in tank" units

NZTools, Jul 27, 5:37am
The fuel pump only runs for a few seconds then switches off. It is only when the ecu is recieving a pulse from the CAS that the pump runs constantly.
