thanks but i still have heads on so rods make it hard to keep test fitting crank to seat rope in,,,,

My understanding is this:modern seals can superseded the old type rope ones. So given the option, replace with new seals and not of rope ones. Seems silly (to me) to do a rebuild and not replace seals, shells etc.
