If you want something that isn't too large, why on earth are you even considering any SUV! Just curious.

Yes, but then there are about 20 other cars that are on the same
platform too. (Touran, Golf, Octavia, Jetta, Audi TT, A3, EOS and the list goes on.)

The Yeti has the more practical bodyshell IMO.
The Yeti also comes with different spec options like the 1.2 tsi although both have a 2.0 Diesel option.

I recommended both because they share the same brilliant mechanical's. Basically any of the cars built on that platform are phenomenal, the investment VW made developing that lineup was monumental and it shows with how good those cars are. BTW, that's why the DSG and that range of engines are so well proven, the sheer numbers when you add all those vehicles together dwarf's pretty much everything else. People think of them as a bit rare in NZ (although there are plenty here really) but on a worldwide scale this is what's actually popular.

That's also why parts are so reasonably priced, it just comes down to numbers.

the new santa fe is out in aussie (see the website over there) so the new one will be here any time. I would keep clear of the old one unless you get a really sharp price, it will depreciate hugely.
